I have a lot of catch up to do! This past fall we were busy with taking both boys to their soccer games. Santiago coached Isaiah's team, and held practices two nights a week. It was a very busy time but I loved it. On some Saturdays their games would be at the same time, so I took Sam with me to Xavier's games.
Xavier was the star of every game. I had to tell him to pass it to his teammates because I felt so bad. No one likes a ball hog. He played on the city league, and can't wait to play on the school league this year so that he can actually have practices. He improved so much from last year, when he would fall on his feet or get upset when he didn't get the ball. Even though he is small he is fast and had so much fun playing. He always looked at me after scoring a goal to give me a thumbs up.
See that smile on Isaiah's face? This kid absolutely loves playing soccer. To him it's so fun running around with his friends. He isn't that aggressive yet, and although I did get a little frustrated that he didn't pursue the ball more, he smiled the whole time on that field. He never wanted to sit out. He played on the U8 team this year, and it seemed like all of the other teams were bigger than our 6 year olds. But they did good, and I am so glad that Santiago was able to coach. It isn't easy coaching a group of rambunctious boys, but he was patient with them and I know Isaiah felt special having his dad coach. It's going to be hard for him this next season having both boys play and only coaching one.
