Watch out...we have a two year old!

This past Sunday our little boy turned two! We celebrated on Saturday with my family that lives here in Fresno...no big shin dig like last year. We enjoyed pizza, chicken wings, birthday cake and ice cream...classic. Isaiah was very excited to blow out his candles..he knew exactly what to do after seeing other people's birthdays. He cried for more to blow out after he was done.

The proud birthday boy

The kids running around crazy with the balloons.

Trying out his jump shot.

Another birthday gift from mommy and daddy. I definitely recommend this Home Depot workstation to anyone who has a little boy. Isaiah loves playing with it, and helps out his daddy with his pretend tools.

Isaiah had his two year check up today with the doctor. He measured 37 inches (96th percentile) and 29 1/2 lbs (73 percentile). The doctor estimates that he will be around 6'2''. Santiago is only 5'9'', so he must get his height from my side of the family. Of course Isaiah was bouncing off the walls and falling on the floor during his visit..but the doctor assured me that he is a normal toddler.
The doc said he is right on track. It took him a while to start saying words, but he is quickly catching up. He has a little over 3o words in his vocab..with some two word phrases like clean up and love you (my fav). His favorite words are yellow, apple, and plane. He repeats those all day long! He is learning his colors, and on a good day will pick out correctly which is yellow, red, blue and green. He knows almost all of the shapes and loves for me to quiz him. He says "no" so sweetly, except when we are singing something he doesn't like. He will scream out "NOOOO" and violently shake his head. He definitely is his own person. He has been sleeping in his toddler bed for about five months now and is doing great! No more sleeping with mommy and daddy. Potty training has been something I have slacked on. The doctor said not to potty train...that he will do it on his own time...but I think I will go ahead and try within the next couple of weeks. He is our crazy kid...and we love him so much. He is full of energy, and although I do wish sometimes that he would just hold my hand instead of running a mile ahead of me, his personality makes me love him even more! I know he will be a great big brother!
Here are some of his favorite things:
Play Doh
Saying Prayers- (if he catches you with your arms folded watch out...your in for a prayer). He loves to say prayers...and even reminds us sometimes to say them.
Cinderella-she is his first crush. He repeats her name over and over while pointing at her when he watches the movie.
Bananas
Dancing-he loves to bust a move, but he is very picky about what song is playing.
Swimming-we have been going to The Island Waterpark every week and he loves playing in the water.
The Park-going to the park is great when its not so hot! But its one of his favorite things. If we pass by somewhere that has slides he yells out, "Park!" and starts crying.
When Daddy Comes Homes-Isaiah watches out the window for Daddy and as soon as he sees him walking up he runs to the door. When I open it he jets into his daddy's arms.

Looks like you guys had fun celebrating. That tool bench looks like lots of fun. I had to laugh about, and then read to Cory, your comment about Isaiah getting his height from your side. That's definitely the funniest thing I've heard all day. Thanks for the laugh!
