Independence Day

We celebrated a day early this year, starting with us hosting our first barbecue. We needed an excuse to buy a grill, so we invited family and friends over for lunch on Saturday. Santiago is great on the grill, and since then has offered to cook dinner lots!

Our friend Rudy and his wife were visiting from Arizona, and it was nice catching up with them. Ever since Santiago and I first met, Rudy has been a good friend of both of ours. It is exciting to see him married now and expecting his first child.

Later that day we headed up to the annual Caruther's Fireworks Show...a tradition that has been in our family forever. The weather was great, and the older kids had a great time dancing to the music from the band. We always bring tons of grub and have a lot of fun. My sister came with her kiddos and without Mark, who always has to work during the holidays keeping the highways safe!

Xavier chilled on the blanket next to Lucas majority of the time. During the fireworks he just stared at the sky. Isaiah talked majority of the time, and kept on repeating, "The sky is all dirty!" It is amazing thinking back that last year I was pregnant with Xavier, and Isaiah was almost 2. The year before that Isaiah was almost one. And then three years ago I was 9 months pregnant. Love the memories...
