Xavier turned 1 two weeks ago. His first year flew by so fast! Even though he isn't the best sleeper, he has been an easy baby, which I am very thankful for. I love this little guy!
We had family over for his birthday. Santiago grilled chicken, and I made a pasta salad and steamed zucchini. After we had dinner we had Isaiah blow out Xavier's candle, and Xavier enjoyed eating his cake. He was a mess afterwards, so we threw him in the tub before he opened up presents.

We knew that Isaiah would steal whatever toy we got for Xavier. So we got him bath toys, and a sit-n-spin, something that they would both enjoy.

At his 1 year check up he weighed in at 19 lbs 4 oz. The doctor said he was average height, so he just considers him a skinny baby. Isaiah weighed 20 lbs at 6 months...so I think that Xavier is really skinny. He never has had a big appettite, and he has been really active early on. His 12 month shorts fall off of him.
One of the best parts of Xavier turning 1 is that he can now sit forward facing. Technically he shouldn't be until he is at 20lbs, but he is almost there!
He is walking great, and is doing better with shoes on. I only nurse him at night, all night. He can drink from a cup pretty good. His favorite words to say are uh-oh and ball. The word "ball" is his answer for pretty much everything. He says "daddy" as soon as Santiago comes through the door after work. He can also say "more"and "bye".
His tantrums are becoming more frequent when he doesn't get what he wants or is frustrated. Santiago thinks he whines alot, but I would too if Isaiah was always pouncing on me and stealing my toys.
Isaiah was already sleeping the night I went into labor with Xavier. I sat down by his bed and cried. I had so many emotions, and especially fears. I feared that I wouldn't love Xavier as much as I loved Isaiah. I feared that Isaiah's whole world would be turned upside down with the new baby, and it would ruin his little life. But I couldn't be more thankful for my 2nd little boy. He is such a blessing to our family, and the love I have for him is just as great as my love for Isaiah.

When I saw Lucas in the shot it made me wish Brooke was crawling around on the floor with those two. It makes me sad they're all so close in age and she's never even met them!
I love that Xavier is skinny at 19 lbs. We'll see what Brooke weighs at her one-year check-up next month. I'm hoping at least 17.5 lbs, but we'll see.
