Christmas

We were really excited to celebrate Christmas this year. Isaiah is older and really is into Santa. Xavier is also old enough to get excited over presents. After everyone was awake Christmas morning, we headed out to the family room to grab our stockings. Isaiah looked inside his and said,"Santa didn't bring me Hiro!" We told him that maybe Hiro was wrapped under the tree, so he headed into the living room and unwrapped one present from Santa. No Hiro. The poor guy was so sad. He didn't see the other present Santa left under the tree. We showed him the last present from Santa, and he unwrapped it and said, "It's not the Hiro with all of the colors." I guess Santa brought him the wrong Hiro. Oh well...

I decided to get Xavier play pots and pretend food for Christmas. The boys have scratched my pots and pans so bad that I thought they would like some toy ones. Xavier wasn't too interested in them. He mainly wanted to play with all of the cool toys his big brother got.
Santiago and I for the last four years have not gotten eachother any Christmas gifts. We always had big "family" purchases we had to make around that time ie:tires, video camera. Well since that is so LAME...this year we made sure to fill eachother's stocking, and buy eachother gifts. My favorite gift was the new dining table he bought me! Yes, that could be seen as a family gift...but I probably never would've gotten it if I didn't pressure him into buying it for me...and using Christmas as an excuse. His favorite gift was probably his new IPad..not from me...but still his favorite I'm sure.

After we had breakfast, Santiago and I noticed that the kids had really high fevers. They had really low energy and didn't want to do much. My brother Devan was calling from his mission, so we headed over to my parents to talk to him and have lunch. The kids seemed to be getting worse, and wouldn't eat anything. We were expected at my sister's house for Christmas dinner, so we went home after lunch, and loaded the kids up with Tylenol. That evening they were pretty misearable...and had fever around 102-103 degrees. For the next couple of days their fevers stayed. They both wouldn't eat or drink...and they would cough so bad that they couldn't hold anything down. Isaiah got red spots all over his face from coughing so hard. I took them into the doctor where he diagnosed them both with chest infections, ear infections, head cold, and something similar to Pertussis. They were put on two anti-biotics...and thankfully within a few days they were eating better and coughing much less.
