Six Years Old
Isaiah turned 6 back in July, and we celebrated with pizza and arcades. Grandma and Grandpa were there to celebrate, as well as his Tia Vero and some cousins.
Isaiah is someone who I could spend all day with and never get bored. He loves to play board games, do art work, and build things. He is constantly analyzing things and loves to learn. But at the top of his list he loves watching TV. Unlike his siblings, if I let him sit and watch Netflix all day he would. He tends to be a homebody, and would rather stay inside than go out and play or go to the store. This is really frustrating because he has so much energy!
He is a rather stubborn child. Getting him to practice the piano is such a pain. He complains that he can't do it and gets so distracted. Once I've finally forced him to do it he can play it without a problem. So frustrating! It's the same with reading or busy work. He gives up without trying. Since I know he can do it I do not let him get away with it. After butting heads he finally gives up and does it. I worry that in school he will be the same way. He is so smart, but so lazy! To bad for him I know his game. Home schooling would never be an option for us, but then I would at least push him to what I know he could handle.
He is the same with getting ready in the morning. He wakes up late, won't eat breakfast till he's been up for a while, and it's like pulling teeth for him to get dressed and brush his teeth. Teenage years will be fun...
Even though he has some rather challenging traits, he also has some great ones. He is full of laughter and smiles. He is scared of getting hurt, so I know he won't be jumping off bridges like his younger brother will be. He is shy, but once he feels comfortable will talk your ear off. He is a leader, not a follower. This was hard for me to accept watching him in kindergarten. He plays on his own if other kids don't play his way. He does have to learn compromise, but I hope he will never change who he is for other people. He can retain information just like his dad. I've been told several times that he knows all of the answers in his primary class. He loves macaroni and cheese with hot dogs, and pepperoni with sausage pizza. He hates salad but I make him eat it anyways. It's going to be weird having him gone longer when he starts 1st grade. It will be more quiet for sure, the fun and laughter he brings will really be missed. Hopefully Xavier won't be too bored.
