November was a full, fun month. Soccer ended, there were birthdays to celebrate, and traveling for the holidays. It was also the month for Movember, which promotes men's health awareness. Men grow a mustache all month long. My husband unfortunately decided to join in, and sported a stache the whole month. I was not a fan of it from day one...so it was also a long month to say the least!
This November was a special one, because Santiago turned the big 3-0! I debated what we should do for his birthday, and I decided that time together without kids would be the best thing. My parents were kind enough to take the kids to Xavier's last soccer game so that we could spend half of the day up in Yosemite. We had a couple's massage at Tenaya Lodge, and the drive up there was beautiful! Once we got to the spa, I think we were both a bit nervous to have a full body massage, a first for both of us. It was an interesting experience. I get anxiety sometimes, and laying on a bed for 90 min. while someone massaged me to zen music was a bit much. But the experience was fun to do together. I wish we could have spent the night there, but I was still nursing Sam at night. We headed down to Chuckchansi Resort and Casino for dinner. We ate at the buffet which was disappointing. We gambled a little (shhh!) and came home with some good money!
I had been excited about the BYU-SAN JOSE STATE game ever since I knew they were going to play. Santiago tried to tell me we weren't going to go, but I knew there was no way he would let me miss it. We had already planned on being in San Jose for Thanksgiving, so Santiago took some time off of work so that we could go up to the game and stay that week. We had plans to take the kids, but at last minute the game got changed to 7pm. That is a little late for our kids...when they are tired it's no fun for anyone! Thankfully we were able to leave them with their Grammy and Grandpa Ortega.
It was so much fun seeing all of the BYU fans, more than San Jose had.
It was also fun being with a lot of my family. It made me sad that the boys weren't there to cheer with their cousins, but Santiago and I were able to relax and enjoy the game. BYU did lose unfortunately, so that was pretty lame.
That next week we hung out with family, and took the kids around to play at parks and to the Children's Museum. One of the boys favorite things to do was to play on the Foosball table at Tia Veros. The older boys, (Santiago and his bros), especially loved playing on it.
The Children's Museum was a lot of fun for the kids. There were many exhibits for them to play and explore.
Can you guess who this is?
They had the most fun at the water stations. They had a area for the little ones which Sam happily at. Xavier was completely drenched after it, and we had to leave soon after that.
Playing with his cousin Vanessa at the park:
It was nice to be all together for a whole week, without the usual interruptions of home.
We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner, and came home the following day. We ended the month with seeing our beautiful niece Kaelyn get baptized.
It was a good month, and thankfully that stache is gone!
