Independance Day Fun

The first week of July was blazing hot! Going to see fireworks did not seem like a good idea. We were going to skip our tradition of seeing them on the 3rd, but at last minute decided to brave the heat.  Thankfully once we got to the football stadium about 7:30, the sun was hidden.  It was just so humid!  My parents got there shortly after us and we just hung around, filled up on Twizzlers and listened to the band playing.  Sam was amazed by the fireworks, and asked, "What's that?" about a million times.  Glad we went.

On the 4th we went to my sister's house for swimming and a bbq.  The water was a "cool" 90 degrees.  The kids had so much fun swimming with their cousins, and we stuffed ourselves with tri-tip and all sorts of salads.  In the evening we headed to their local golf course and watched the fireworks.

I'll be ok if I don't see fireworks for another year.
